Is it normal to get white marks on a table tennis bat when playing with it?

I just got a new table tennis bat and started playing with it. Everytime I hit the ball (white) it leaves white marks on my bat (especially noticeable on the black side). Is this normal, or is it due to the quality of the balls, or anything else?

It’s the balls, you can try wiping then with a little white vinegar and letting them air dry. That should take off the residue on the ball. Also playing with it for a while will work.
