I’d like to buy a high-quality table tennis paddle that isn’t too expensive. Any advice?

I’m an intermediate table tennis player but I’m not the type that buys custom made table tennis paddles. But, I’d like a tournament quality paddle that will give me the ability to compete with the big dogs. The Butterfly and Stiga paddles that are available at Sports Authority are low-end and lose their stick very quickly. Any other suggestions? I’d appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

The paddles that you find at any of the sports equipment retail stores are definitely low-end. They aren’t much good in the first place and they go downhill with use. There are actual table tennis on-line stores that carry excellent equipment, and their prices vary from moderate to very pricey. Their lower end paddles are outstanding compared to what you would buy at Sports Authority. The best way in my experience to buy your paddle, particularly since you won’t know exactly what you want, is to call and talk to the experts there and give them a ball-park idea of your needs and your price range. Here are the websites: , and. I am a club player and most of our members buy our paddles through these sources. Their service is excellent. These paddles are lively so it may take you a little while to get used to them. Once you get use to your new paddle you will love it. Happy smashing!
